Fine Arts for Everyone
According to FCPS, over 150,000 K-12 students have access to the Fine Arts program in school. Among them, only few students could afford the private lessons.
However, Shalom Music provides reasonable rate of private lessons, seasonal music camps and other special programs including master-classes. We offer classes for all-ages because we believe that learning music helps improve your life better.

Our Vision
Shalom Music’s programs are created based on the Bloom’s Taxonomy, widely applied in American education system. Our final goal of music education is to help students create their own music regarding as the top level of “Create” in the Bloom’s taxonomy.
Instructors
Dr. DaeJin Bae
Violin & Viola
"Violinist Dr. DaeJin Bae has played in numerous orchestras such as the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, Huntington Symphony Orchestra, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral experience, he has given many recitals and performances at universities in the US and his native South Korea. Dr. DaeJin Bae received his Bachelor of Music degree from Butler University in 2005 and his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he won the Starling Competition and was a full scholarship recipient. Between 2010 and 2013 Dr. Bae was a commissioned officer and the music director of the military band at the headquarters of the Army in South Korea, as well as a committee member of the Orchestra at the Ministry of National Defense. Dr. Bae has also enjoyed conducting many church choirs in the US and South Korea."

Afterwards, Dr. Bae pursued a Master of Divinity at Biblical Theological Seminary (currently Missio Seminary) and graduated. He has been serving as a music pastor at Shalom Presbyterian Church of Washington.
Sharon Kim
Piano & Composition
Mrs. Sharon Kim is a dedicated contemporary composer and music educator. Sharon has published a Christian songbook "The Psalm Collection (2020)" and her own composition "Opus.1" as a digital album. She started studying jazz piano when she was fifteen years old. After 5 years of intensive Jazz Study, she graduated from Paekche Institute of the Arts in South Korea where she earned a diploma in Jazz Piano Performance. Afterwards, Sharon continued to study at Boyer College of Music of Temple University where she earned Master of Music Education degree. Sharon is currently serving as an accompanist and music director at Shalom Presbyterian Church located in Fairfax Station.
